Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, a local gangster from Mohali has claim responsibility for attacking the famous Punjabi singer Parmish Verma.
In the Facebook post Dilpreet Singh Dhahan said that Mr Verma had "tried his best to escape, but eventually suffered."
"Mr Verma, you're lucky to be alive", also said the gangster in his post.
The motive behind the gangsters attack however, is still unclear.
Parmish Verma was shot at by some unidentified assailants in Mohali yesterday, police had said.
Parmish, who shot into fame with his song 'Gaal Nahin Kadhnai', was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali.
Parmish was shot at Sector 91 in Mohali when he was returning home.
"A bullet hit his leg," Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Chahal said.
The official said that the singer was out of danger.
