BJP today questioned Congress President's Rahul Gandhi's silence over Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief GA Mir's remarks questioning the arrest of accused in Kathua rape case.

The party asked why Mr Gandhi has not removed Mr Mir before questioning the BJP. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, senior party leader Prakash Javadekar condemned the brutal incident and said two of its ministers in the J&K government have resigned following the controversy.

Mr Javadekar wondered why Mr. Gandhi had not carried out candle march after the Nirbhaya incident and when Dalits and women were attacked in Haryana during Congress rule. Mr Javadekar also said the culprits should be brought to justice.

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee had alleged that the real culprits are being shielded for political purposes.
