CMC to turn Bokaro Township slum-free

Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC) is on move to turn Bokaro Steel City into ‘Slum Free’ area and has given a requisition of seven acres of land for this purpose to the Bokaro Steel Plant’s (BSL) management.

“On the directive of State headquarter we have taken the initiative. People residing in the slum or huts across the township area of BSL will be rehabilitated and settled in permanent houses. Presently we have given a requisition for seven acres of land in the township area to resettle all slums,” said Bholu Paswan Mayor CMC.

There are more than 5000 hutments in the township area of BSL. “We have already identified four acres of land in the township area and are in the process of taking NOC from BSL,” he said.
