RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Executive  Director and Asset Manager of ONGC DMR Sekhar has said Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar played an instrumental role in industrialising and introducing labour-friendly policies in India, besides hugely contributing to drafting of the constitution. He took part in the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of Ambedkar held at ONGC Base Complex on Saturday.

He said Ambedkar’s ideas on the betterment of under privileged had influenced numerous welfare policies of the governments and ONGC’s CSR and component plan are also influenced by his ideas of creating a better society. Ambedkar’s poor family background could not deter him from championing the cause of the socially marginalised sections of society, informed Sekhar.

From this great soul’s resolute determination and struggles, the youth of the day has a lot to take inspiration to build their successful careers and serve society, he said. Earlier, Sekhar garlanded the statue of Ambedkar. Commemorating the event, the ONGC, under the aegis of the All India SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, organised a blood donation camp.
