Five arrested, bottles hurled at police at out-of-control Geraldton 21st birthday
Five men have been arrested after bottles were thrown at police as they tried to break up an out-of-control 21st birthday in Geraldton on Saturday evening.
Neighbours first called police to break up the party on Callistemon Court in the suburb of Utakarra at around 11pm, following reports of loud music and party-goers fighting in the street.
Bottles were thrown at police and three men were arrested before officers were able to restore order.
The party host agreed to shut the party down, and police left the scene.
However, just hours later police were called back to the party by neighbours, who again reported people fighting in the street and loud music.
On attendance, officers were abused and bottles were again thrown at them.
The party was declared an out-of-control gathering, and partygoers were moved on from the area.
In total, a 39-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were all charged with disorderly conduct.
A 22-year-old man was also charged with obstructing police.
Inquiries will continue into the incidents.
