UDHAMPUR/ JAMMU: A juvenile allegedly attempted to rape a four-year-old girl in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

The boy, a Class 9 student, had gone to deliver milk to the family in Udhampur town when he found the girl alone and tried to rape her yesterday, a police official said.

However, he fled the scene after the cries of the girl attracted the attention of her neighbours who rushed to the spot, the official said.

He said police has registered a case and started a hunt to nab the accused.

Both the victim and the accused belong to different religions, the official said.
