CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man molested a 12-year-old girl child after he made a foiled attempt to sexually abuse her, in a village, falling under
Nangal Chaudhary police station of
Mahendergarh district.
The accused identified as
Vijay Kumar has been booked and arrested in a case under
POCSO Act, registered at
Women Police station of Mahendergarh.

Meenakshi Sharma, the SHO of Women Police station who is also the investigating officer said that Vijay was produced before the duty magistrate, that remanded him to judicial custody.
According to information, the crime occurred when the girl was walking down the street. Vijay spotted and lured her by showing Rs 10 currency note for getting her sweets.
He took her to his room he started touching all over her body. 'The girl had resisted and managed to escape from his house. She informed her parents and they reported the matter to police. Girl was examined and her state was recorded after counselling. Girl had identified the place and accused. Accused too is confessed to have committed crime,’’ said Meenakshi.
Accordingly he was arrested. The girl was little disabled but was able to communicate properly. So far as accuszed is concerned, he is married and his daughter is studying in the graduation course, added Meenakshi.
