AAP Govt sealed borewells, hand pumps sans alternative provisions for water: LoP

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta has accused the Kejriwal Government of sealing the bore wells, tube wells and hand pumps without making any alternative arrangements for supply of potable water.

Gupta informed that lakhs of people are crying out for water as Delhi Government has made no alternative arrangements of drinking water for these people. “Majority of the areas of Delhi are covered by these sources of water including Majara Dabas, Barwala, Ochandi, Rohini, Bankner, Nangloi, Ashok Vihar and Najafgarh Even areas where water is supplied by Delhi Jal Board, people are forced to install pumps as water pressure is missing,” he said

He demanded that the the Government must ensure that adequate clean potable water is arranged by Delhi Jal Board for areas affected by sources of water being sealed or shut due to contaminated water.

Gupta also said that the Government should talk to the Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Governments to arrange more water for the people of Delhi.
