A bus of a prominent school in Delhi's Chanakyapuri area ran over two minor children, leaving one dead and another critically injured on Friday night.
The driver of the bus was reversing the vehicle near Vivekananda Camp when the accident took place.
There were no students inside the bus at the time of the accident.
The deceased identified as Rahul (11), studying in class 8, was playing with his friend Jagdish near the camp area when driver Resham Pal (57), who had parked the vehicle in the same area, tried to reverse the bus.
"It was while he was reversing the bus that Rahul and Jagdish came under its rear wheel.
They were immediately rushed to nearby AIIMS trauma centre where Rahul succumbed to multiple fractures around 7.30 pm. Jagdish also received fracture in leg," said a police official of New Delhi district.

"We have arrested the accused for rash and negligent driving under relevant IPC sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. We have seized the vehicle after the accident," the official further said.
