CHANDIGARH: The
Haryana government has decided to form a three-member committee to find out facts about the involvement of people in the untoward incidents that happened during the Bharat Bandh on April 2.
The committee will review all cases registered by the police on that day and if any evidence is found, action will be taken against the culprits and the innocent will be released.
An IAS officer, an IPS officer and a public representative will be the members of the committee.
Chief minister
Manohar Lal Khattar made this announcement on Saturday while addressing a gathering at the district-level Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations held in Kurukshetra, on Saturday
Referring to the April 2 incidents, Khattar said a section of the society was demonstrating peacefully in the state when some anti-social elements infiltrated the crowd and tried to disturb the law-and-order. The police registered cases against about 100 persons.
Khattar said the state government would soon constitute the
Haryana Scheduled Castes Commission and advertise for all posts meant for Scheduled Castes at one go to ensure clearance of the backlog.
Khattar said efforts would be made to ensure that these posts are filled up on a regular basis. Khattar urged the people to provide best education to their wards so that they could take benefit of the vacancies. About 38,000 group-D posts would be advertised within next month and recruitment would be carried out purely on merit basis, he said.
While paying tributes to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Khattar said many schemes had been launched by the present government for the welfare of people belonging to all sections of the society, especially the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. Financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojna has also been increased to Rs 51,000.
