BJP flays CM’s statement

Reacting strongly to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that no Central government vehicle could move out of the State if he gave a call to that effect, BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju said, “It is an irresponsible statement from the head of a State, and it clearly shows his dictatorial attitude.”

Speaking to The Hindu here on Friday, he said, “What does he mean by Central government vehicle? Does he mean that he will not allow CRPF vehicles, the force that is fighting the Maoist insurgency in the State, to move out of the State? Does he mean that he will not allow Air India flights to land and take off?”

“Does he have any control over vehicles belonging to the Eastern Naval Command, or the Indian Army, or the Air Force? Such statements create a divide among the people and between the governments. It is not fair in a federal set-up,” he said.
