Milton Slayton We stood beside his bed and watched his life depart and when we knew he was gone it broke our hearts. On April 10, 2018, God called his child, Milton Slayton home to rest. Milton was born on January 8, 1950, to the late Johnnie Slayton and Rebecca Slayton Rucker. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Doris Lee Slayton and James Hall; and a sister, Mary Agnes Watson. He was married to Patricia Lee Slayton. Milton was selfemployed as an auto mechanic and was well known throughout the community and surrounding areas. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memories four children, Milton Thornhill (Neera), of Ashburn, Va., Patrick Slayton (Helen), of Evington, Va., Melissa Coleman (Keith) and Jason Slayton (Chivon), both of Lynchburg; three siblings, Joe Louis Slayton (Caroline), of Bristol, Pa., Gloria Jackson (Alvin) and Eva Jane Hall, both of Lynchburg, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Rubbie Lee, Frank and Valeria Thomas, and Geneva Patterson, all of Evington, Va., and Estelle Hall, of Long Island, Va.; 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, Evington with the Rev. Russell Lee, officiating. The interment will be held in the church cemetery.
