Sitting under the stars in the amphitheatre surrounded by the wild natural beauty of the Aravali Biodiversity Park, and enjoying the soulful performances is pretty much what The Gurgaon Utsav is all about. The Arts and Literature Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and the Haryana department of art and cultural affairs, is presenting the event for the seventh consecutive year.

On April 13 Dastango Mohammed Farooqui presented his play, titled Dastan-e Karn Az Mahabharat , on the great Karna and his heroism. Jab Karn ki awaaz chattanon se takraigi to goonj uthegi was Farooqui’s reaction when invited to perform at the Gurgaon Utsav. This dastan is both written and performed by Mahmood Farooqui and produced by Anusha Rizvi.

On April 14, Prahlad Tipanya from Malwa took the centre stage with his rendition of Kabir. And finally on April 15 the Nooran Sisters will present Bulle Shah’s poetry. Gurgaon will experience the best folk artists from across the country including UP, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.
