Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting one of the worst Maoist affected regions in tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh today. Tribal population of this backward remote area seemed to be enthusiastic over Prime Minister’s visit to Jangla village in Bijapur district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to spend nearly four hours in tribal Bastar region today. He will formally launch the Health and Wellness Centre component under Ayushman Bharat Programme, besides inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various projects of Centre and state governments.

Prime Minister will also launch the Van Dhan Yojana. This scheme aims to empower the tribals by teaching them skills for value addition to the forest produce.

Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of country’s first Van Dhan Vikas Kendra.

Prime Minister will also dedicate ‘Bastar net’ project for strengthening mobile as well as internet connectivity across the left wing extremism affected region.

PM is also scheduled to meet 10 selected sportspersons from government-run Bijapur sports academy.
