Browns WR Landry officially signs extension

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry officially signed his five-year extension with the team on Friday.

The team tweeted out a picture of the 25-year-old signing his contract.

According to previous reports, the deal is worth $75.5 million with $47 million guaranteed, with the latter figure ranking third among all NFL wideouts. His annual average of $15.1 million ranks fifth at the position. Landry was set to make about $16 million on the franchise tag in 2018 absent an extension.

The Browns traded fourth- and seventh-round picks to Miami to acquire Landry, who earned $894,000 when he led the NFL with 112 receptions in 2017 but fell short of 1,000 yards by 13. He also caught a career-high nine touchdowns.

In 2017, all Browns wide receivers combined for 134 receptions and seven receiving TDs.

While his 400 receptions are the most ever by a player through four NFL seasons, Landry's 10.1 yards per catch is the second-lowest average in NFL history among wide receivers with at least 250 career catches (Danny Amendola, 9.7).
