Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying the vehicle and driver they say were involved in a hit-and-run crash in which a pedestrian was struck Friday afternoon.

About 2:12 p.m. Friday, a dark green SUV, believed to be a Subaru Forester, struck a pedestrian in the Wawa parking lot at 705 Philadelphia Pike in Bellevue, according to police.

The pedestrian was standing on a sidewalk waiting for a bus at the bus stop when the suspect’s vehicle reversed and struck him, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. The suspect then fled the Wawa parking lot.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries from falling to the ground.

Police have released a photo of the person they believe was driving the vehicle. Taken from security camera footage, it shows a blonde woman wearing sunglasses.

The police department is investigating the incident and asks anyone with information to contact Cpl. J. Gliem at Troop 1 by calling (302) 761-6677 or (302) 660-4285. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or via the internet at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com
