BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar to be produced in court, CBI also likely to question minor today

A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar accused of raping and harassing a minor in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, the MLA will be produced in court today.

The CBI is believed to move an application in court today for cancelling bail of the co-accused in the Unnao rape case, in addition to seeking remand for Sengar.

The investigation agency will reportedly seek BJP MLA's brother Atul Singh Sengar's custody to question him in the death case of the survivor's father.

The post mortem report of the minor's father Pappu Singh, who died in the hospital under mysterious circumstances on April 9, suggested that he sustained 14 antemortem injuries on his body. (Pappu Singh was arrested in a case of assault and died in judicial custody)

The BJP MLA meanwhile has already undergone a medical test ahead of his court hearing.

On the other hand, the rape survivor and her family are en route Lucknow- where they are likely to be questioned by the CBI today. The minor will be accompanied by her paternal uncle and elder sister.

Speaking to news agency ANI today, the minor survivor's uncle expressed relief over the accused BJP MLA's arrest and said, "Happy that CBI confirmed his arrest. Biggest investigative agency of the nation is investigating the case... MLA (Vidhayak ji) got my brother killed, all officials and police involved will be sent to jail."

Sengar's much-delayed arrest came Friday evening following the Allahabad High Court's order to CBI on the same day.
