Ujjain : Panchkroshi ‘yatris’ began returning to the city on Saturday a day ahead of schedule. They were welcomed into the city by many social organizations as well as Ujjain Muncipal Corporation (UMC).
As per the expectations of the administration, the Panchkroshi pilgrims were to begin their journey from April 11 and supposed to return to the city on Sunday. However, many pilgrims who had begun their journey 2 to 3 days earlier, started returning to the city on Saturday.
Seeing the pilgrims returning, UMC and many social organisations made arrangements for their welcome at the eleventh hour. Police staff also became alert and placed barricades on the road to Nagchandreshwar Temple in Patni Bazaar, where the pilgrims will go to return the ‘bal’. Some pilgrims also began the ‘astateerth yatra,’ which is done after the Panchkroshi yatra. According to the administration, around 10 to 12 thousand pilgrims will return to the city on Sunday.
