Manohar Lal assures fair investigation

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Friday said that the State Government is working with the principle of Antyodaya and no discrimination would be made with anyone.

The Chief Minister was interacting with a delegation led by Vice-chairman, Swachh Bharat Mission, Subhash Chandra, which met the Chief Minister at Faridabad and handed over a memorandum regarding the cases registered during ‘Bharat Band’ on April 2.

The delegation accused the police for registering fake cases against the dalits in different districts following violence during April 2 protest.

The delegation informed the Chief Minister that even though they had participated peacefully in the Bharat Band to ensure stringent implementation of the SC/ST Act, the police had registered fake cases and now pressure is being created for making arrests.

Manohar Lal assured the delegation that the matter would be got investigated in a fair and transparent manner.

Notably, despite the deployment of police forces to thwart any untoward incident during the April 2 Bharat Bandh, the protestors had turned violent destroying and damaging government and private property, blocked trains and forcibly shut down shops in various parts of Haryana.

Incidents of violence were reported from Faridabad, Bhiwani, Karnal, Hisar, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Jind, Fatehabad among other places. At several places, mob had clashed with police personnel who had to resort to firing in the air, lathicharge and used tear-gas shells to disperse the protestors.

Following this, more than thousands were booked for indulging in violence, loot, attempt to murder and attacking police during April 2 protest.
