The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and OSBI are investigating after a man was found dead in Peoria.

On Friday, April 13, someone called 911 saying that a man was covered in blood at a residence in Peoria.

The man has been identified as 52-year-old Miles Rentfrow. 

A preliminary report from the medical examiner's office said that the potential cause of death was a gunshot wound to the sternum. 

The sheriff's office said a small caliber weapon was used in the shooting that was identified from shrapnel found from Rentfrow. 

No arrests have been made as investigators work to find answers.
