Gram Swaraj Abhiyan to be organised in 235 villages of Haryana

Haryana Chief Secretary DS Dhesi on Friday said that Gram Swaraj Abhiyan would be organised in 21000 villages of the country including 235 villages of Haryana from April 14 to May 5. 

During the campaign, benefit of various schemes would be provided to eligible beneficiaries in these villages, said the Chief Secretary while presiding over a review meeting regarding arrangements of this campaign, through video conferencing with divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners, here.

He said that on April 14, Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti would be celebrated and on April 18, Swachhta Abhiyan would be conducted under Swachh Bharat Parv. On coming April 20, gas connections would be provided to eligible beneficiaries under Ujjawala Yojana. During this campaign, in villages identified by the Education Department, income and caste certificates would also be made for  students belonging to Scheduled Castes, said Dhesi.

He further said that under the campaign, on April 24, National Panchayati Raj Day would be celebrated and the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be telecasted in Gram Panchayats. On April 28, under Gram Shakti Abhiyan, the benefit of Saubhagya Yojana and other schemes would be provided to eligible beneficiaries.

On April 30, Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan would be conducted under which people would be informed about the scheme and Health Insurance Scheme would be initiated.

The Chief Secretary added that from April 16 to 20, Health Department would ensure 100 per cent immunisation of newborns and children upto the age of two years, in the identified villages. From April 25, the national campaign of Measles and Rubella Immunisation would also be launched.

He also issued directions to all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure adequate arrangements for wheat procurement in mandis and review its procurement from time to time, in view of rainy season.
