The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) expelled MLAs R.K. Roy and Dr Siyaram Kaushik from the party for their alleged loyalty to former Chief Minister and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) JCC (J) founder and Chief Ajit Jogi.

The MLAs were expelled from the party following recommendation of the party’s Disciplinary Committee on Friday.

The two rebel Congress MLAs were already suspended from the party for actively participating in the functions and programmes of Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) and for openly claiming that they were loyal to the JCC (J) founder Ajit Jogi.

Earlier MLA Amit Jogi was expelled from the party but actions on these two MLAs was pending since long.

The matter of expulsion of them once again highlighted when they were going against the party line and disobeying the whip issued for recently held Rajya Sabha elections and abstained themselves from the voting.

Commenting on the expulsion R K Roy said the Congress party’s decision was now not of any relevance and they are openly with the JCC (J) for past two years and are loyal to its party’s Supremo Ajit Jogi. “The action is now of no importance as we had already said that now we don’t want to work with Congress party any longer.”

Dr Siyaram Kaushik on the other hand said he had not worked against Congress party till now but was against the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, this time the JCC (J) is going to form the government in state.

Ajit Jogi is a mass based leader in the state and his  insult was intolerable to them that was why they violated the whip, he said.
