Rich tributes paid to architect of Indian Constitution across the State

The Telangana state had become reality only by adopting the slogan given by Father of Indian Constitution B. R. Ambedkar, said Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K. Taraka Rama Rao.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao followed the slogan given by Dr. Ambedkar — Educate, Unite and Agitate — during the Telangana Statehood movement by educating the people about the importance of Telangana State, uniting the people and leading the agitation for the cause of separate Telangana state, he said speaking here at the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr BR Ambedkar in Sircilla on Saturday.

On this occasion, the 15 SC beneficiaries were given 45 acres of land purchased at a cost of ₹ 2.85 crore. Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar, ZP chairperson Tula Uma, TSCAB chairman K. Ravinder Rao, Collector D. Krishna Bhaskar, SP Rahul Hegde BK, CESS chairman Laxma Reddy and others were present.

Events organised

The birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution was celebrated across the state with officials and leaders from all walks of life paying rich tributes to the first Law Minister of Independent India. A number of events were organised at all district headquarters.

In old Nizamabad district Agriculture Minister P. Srinivas Reddy and Member of Parliament K. Kavitha led people in paying tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution. Collectors, legislators and other dignitaries participated.

In Karimnagar, MP B. Vinod along with Karimnagar legislator G Kamalakar, MLC Naradasu, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, Municipal Commissioner K. Shashanka and others formally unveiled a bust of Father of Indian Constitution B. R. Ambedkar on the premises of Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) in Karimnagar town on Saturday. It is reported to be the first such bust on the premises of any offices of a urban local body in the State.

In erstwhile Medak district, the celebrations were led by Irrigation Minister garlanding the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in Siddipet. In Sangareddy a Run for Ambedkar was organised by the Ambedkar Seva Samiti. A large number of persons of all ages participated in the run from Inspection Bungalow to Ambedkar Chowk.

In Khammam, District Collector D. S. Lokesh Kumar said education is the only means to realise the ideals of the founding father of our Constitution. MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Zilla Parishad chairperson G Kavitha, Additional Commissioner of Police Suresh Kumar, Ambedkar Jayanthi Utsav Committee convenor P Madhu and co-convenor K Prabhakar, and others spoke at the celebrations.

Grievance submitted

A minor commotion prevailed during the meeting when an aggrieved contract staff nurse working in Bonakal mandal tried to come on to the dais in an attempt to submit a memorandum to the Collector seeking action against a senior officer of the District Medical and Health Department on charges of harassing her. The assembled police moved her away and asked her to lodge a complaint with the police.

In Adilabad Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna on Saturday headed the official celebrations in Adilabad district. He was the chief guest at the public meeting at Ambedkar chowk organised by the district administration.
