CHENNAI: BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday charged the DMK and Congress with protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Cauvery issue just to cover up the betrayals committed by them on the issue in the past. The single point agenda of these parties is to belittle the Prime Minister, she said.

Talking to reporters here, she said, “The reputation of the DMK and Congress had gone down across the globe for protesting against the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Chennai. Conducting DefExpo in Tamil Nadu is a privilege for the State because it is being done at an expenditure of `500 crore and attended by nearly 60 countries.” She said the people of Tamil Nadu did not participate in the protests against the Prime Minister on Thursday.
