700 students to appear for CLAT


Indore : The number of students opting for common law admission test (CLAT) has increased this year.  City based CLAT expert Ashutosh Kaushik said about 500 students from Indore had appeared for CLAT last year. This year, 700 students have already registered for the examination. CLAT will be conducted on May 13.

Symbiosis Entrance Test and All India Law Entrance Test will be conducted on May 5 and May 6 respectively. According to Kaushik, students who opted for legal studies in class XI and XII in CBSE schools will benefit in Symbiosis Entrance Test due to case study pattern covered in the syllabus.

Disclosing national data of students opting for career in law, Kaushik said, “About 40,000 candidates appeared in CLAT in 2016 while over 58,000 took test in 2017. This figure is expected to go up further this year.”


CLAT will be conducted at 158 centres in 60 cities. Out of total, six CLAT centres will be in Indore. The examination will be organised by National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi, Kerala. CLAT, unlike other law entrance exams, is a computer-based test.
