Cape Coral man dies of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at Shoot Center

A 23-year-old Cape Coral man who suffered a gunshot wound at a gun range Friday afternoon has died.

The man was taken to a local hospital after suffering an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head while at the Shoot Center gun range in Cape Coral.

Detectives believe this was a suicide based on the preliminary investigation, but an official determination will not be made until the conclusion of the investigation, which is ongoing. 

The News-Press is not identifying the man because the death has unofficially been determined a suicide.

Cape Coral police were called to the Shoot Center range at 1122 Del Prado Blvd. South at 1:45 p.m. Friday.
