AP fibernet officials exchange MoU with Associated Producers of Telugu in Vijayawada on Friday | P RAVINDRA BABU

VIJAYAWADA: AP State Fibernet Limited signed an MoU with Associated Producers of Telugu LLP on Friday. The MoU will facilitate airing of film content like trailers, teasers, promotional activities and small films by the APSFL to rural households. Addressing the gathering, CEO of APSFL, AS Dinesh Kumar said, “It is a great tie-up with Telugu producers and it is going to be a win win situation for both of us. Fibernet is the brainchild of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and because of him, today, the rural interior places have access to internet.

Now, with this initiative, rural people can watch trailers of upcoming movies, new movies, short films and many more. Even producers who cannot release their films through theatres can use the Fibernet live stream them to rural audience. Ticket booking also can be done from Fibernet app. We want to increase ad revenue and soon we will also develop many other initiatives and reach out to the maximum number of people through our services.”

He further said that over 50 percent of Fibernet in the State was completed and as on date 1300 MSO’s and 13000 local cable operators have tied up with them. “The normal cable TV is now being used as smart one with internet, where people can access movies, newspapers, agriculture related videos, virtual classrooms and many more at a nominal price,” he added. Film producer Dil Raju said, “We are happy to team up with such a prestigious project of AP government.

We have lot of content, there are films that have never been released in theatres and there are films that channels didn’t buy, etc. This would help promote small producers.” Producer KS Rama Rao said the film industry would benefit as rural areas got access to AP Fibernet. “We are planning to develop an App to book movie tickets through AP Fibernet with the cooperation of Film Development Corporation.”
