Mt. Pleasant Methodist Service Set
Mt. Pleasant First United Methodist Church will worship twice this Sunday. Traditional worship is at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary followed by adult classes at 10. A more contemporary style worship is at 11 o’clock, with children’s Sunday school beginning with the worship service. Dave Kingsworthy is taking a turn as preacher looking toward Earth Day with a sermon titled “Does God Love Creation?”
Unitarian Universalist Service Set
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Michigan will hold its service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, at 319 S. University Avenue (corner of Wisconsin and University) in Mt. Pleasant. The worship theme is “What Does It Mean to Be a People of Emergence?” and a sermon titled “The Point of It All.” Religious education and childcare are provided.
Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Service Set
First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant will hold its service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Andrew Miller’s Reflection, “Will You Be A Witness” is based on Luke 24:36-48. What does witness mean to you? How and why should we be a witness? How have you been a witness to the Easter story? Following worship there will be a time of fellowship with refreshments.
Christian Music Artist Concert
The Seville Community Church of God will host Christian music artist Woody Wright at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Wright is a member of the “Bill Gaither” Gospel Music Organization and travels coast to coast with “The Gaither’s” Homecoming Concert Team, playing gospel music fans in large arenas around the United States. The Seville Community Church of God is located five miles west of Alma on M-46.
Benefit Dinner, Silent Auction
The Clare County Right To Life will host its “Focus on Life” benefit dinner and silent auction starting at 5:30 p.m. (dinner at 6:30) on Friday, April 27, at the Clare Church of the Nazarene (10160 S. Grant Ave. in Clare). Peter Brooks of Family Life Radio is the scheduled speaker. Tickets are $15 per person or $8 for youth. For reservations, call Doris 386-7303 or email clarecountyrtl@gmail.com.
Rosebush Announcements
The Rosebush Ecumenical Assistance Program is a free food pantry held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays, at the St. Henry Church (corner of Mission and Vernon Road). A valid Michigan I.D. is required. Also, worship at 10 a.m. on Sundays at Rosebush United Methodist Church (3805 School Rd. in Rosebush). The nursery and kids’ church also starts at 10 o’clock. There’s a time for fellowship and refreshments after the service.
Lutheran Free Clothing Store
Living Hope Lutheran Church’s free clothing store will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24. The store is open on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are loads of clothes plus blankets, sheets, toys, curtains and more. It’s located in the old Chemical bank drive-in, 2370 Ludington Dr. in Farwell, across from Reds party and marathon station. If the schools are closed for bad weather, the store will be closed, too.
Buzz Stone & Friends Perform
Buzz Stone & Friends will be singing at the Pleasant View U. B. Church from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on April 29. The performance includes country and old-time gospel music with refreshments afterwards. The church is located 0.75 mile east of M-66 on Adams Road, which is approximately 3.5 miles north of the junction of M-66 and -46 at Six Lakes, or 8.5 miles south of the light (M-20) in Remus.
Gospel Jamboree Cancelled
The First Church of the Nazarene will hold a gospel jamboree on May 1.
