Three children die, one injured as wall collapses in Andhra Pradesh

ONGOLE: Three children died while another was injured on Thursday afternoon after the wall of an under construction building here collapsed on them. As Andhra Pradesh school education department declared half day schools during summer, four children, including a girl, aged between 7 and 10, from Kothadonka area had gone to the building this afternoon. The children scaled a newly constructed wall while playing. They tried to stand on a wall constructed with cement bricks, but the wall collapsed on them. While three boys died on the spot, the girl was rushed to RIMS with injuries.

The deceased were identified as Sindhe Prem Chand, Katta Mani and Gudimetla Navadeep, residents of Kothadonka near Bullet Showroom at Sivaprasad Colony in Ongole. The condition of injured girl child Premajyothi is critical. Ongole DSP B Srinivasa Rao and Ongole Taluk police station CI Ganga Venkateswarlu along with representatives of Childline visited the spot and conducted an inquiry.
