After suffering a four-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening match, Virat Kohli-led RCB will aim to get their campaign back on track when they host KXIP today. RCB finished second best in a cliffhanger to KKR after Sunil Narine snatched victory with a 17-ball fifty. Under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin, Punjab are coming into the match with their tails up, having started the season on a resounding note, beating Delhi Daredevils by six wickets. The home crowd will be expecting some fireworks from RCB stars Brendon McCullum and AB de Villiers, who blasted a 27-ball 43 and a 23-ball 44, respectively, in their last game. Skipper Kohli, surprisingly, played second fiddle by scoring 31 off 33 balls, but he would like to have a better outing against KXIP. Coming to the visitors, local lad KL Rahul, who scripted the victory for KXIP with the fastest-ever fifty in IPL, will look to repeat his show on his home ground this time. Karun Nair, who scored a 33-ball fifty, will be another man to watch out for. Yuvraj Singh would be keen to regain his touch, while David Miller and Marcus Stoinis will be vital to score in death overs.
