Man held on murder attempt charge

The Vadakkekara police on Thursday arrested a gang leader wanted in an attempt to murder case.

The arrested person was identified as Dinesh Lal aka Vavachi, a native of Kilikollur. He was wanted in connection with the attempt to murder a Gothuruth native, allegedly after receiving a quotation from the latter’s wife. The quotation gang, however, mistook the intended person for his brother and attacked him.

Dinesh Lal is also wanted in several cases in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts. The accused was produced before a magistrate.
