As per instructions of monitoring committee appointed by the Supreme Court, municipal corporations have sealed 48 properties across the national Capital.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation sealed 18 points in five properties at Defence colony (C- Blok) for ongoing misuse in stilt parking areas. While, north civic body sealed eight stilt parking in Rajender Nagar and Rohini. Besides, one shop cum residence property was also sealed in Vijay Nagar.
In a similar drive, East Delhi Municipal Corporation also sealed 19 properties in its areas and impounded 18 vehicles from Sonia Vihar. Further, two factories also sealed in Karawal Nagar.
Also, 'Public Health Department' of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Wednesday took a major action against illegal encroachment by hawkers and sealed around 50 units for creating atmosphere conducive to health diseases.
A senior SDMC official said that the actions against 2400 units were also taken for violating the provisions lay down under 'Health Trade Licence'.
He further informed that the department conducted raid at 350 locations in view of removal of encroachment by hawkers, unauthorised rehries, sugarcane crushers' operator, water trolleys, unauthorised food vendors.
Considering the possible outbreak of water borne diseases, 70 sugarcane crushers were also seized that were operating in very pathetic conditions. Further. 2361 prosecution action has been done against defaulters violating conditions of 'Health Trade License' and creating nuisance,” he said.
A senior officer of the public health department stated that Police complaint/FIR will also be lodged against owners who are obtaining online license thorough submission of fraudulent documents and their license will be cancelled and fee will be forfeited.
