Stands first in Intermediate first year exams too

Continuing their good performance, girls outscored boys with 10 percentage points in the first year Intermediate examinations, the results of which were released here on Friday by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

While the pass percentage of boys was 57, girls scored a neat 67.

In the second year Intermediate results that were declared on Thursday in Rajamahendravaram, girls fared better by securing a pass percentage of 77 as against 70 by boys.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said out of 4,78,621 students who had appeared, 2,95,891 passed. The overall pass percentage was 62. Of the total number of candidates who appeared for the examination, 2,36,918 were girls, and 1,57,552 of them cleared the examination. Of 2,41,703 boys who appeared, 1,38,339 passed.

Kadapa at the bottom

Coming to the district-wise pass percentage, Krishna topped the list with 75, followed by West Godavari (67) and Guntur (65). The districts that scored the least pass percentage were Kadapa (48); Srikakulam (53); and Anantapur (54).

Among the government colleges, Vizianagaram topped with 64%, followed by Srikakulam (52%), and West Godavari (48%).

Surprisingly, Visakhapatnam stood at the bottom with 30%, followed by Anantapur 33%, and Kadapa 38%.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said 24,163 students scored 10 out of 10 in the CGPA grade scale and 77,648 candidates stood in the 9 to 10 CGPA. Only 18 candidates scored below 4 CGPA in the entire State, he added.

Results online

There are 44 websites such as http://examresults.ap.nic.in hosting the results, and the password is IBIE#M18.

“The results can also be obtained from any eSeva or Mee Seva centre, or AP Online centres, or through SMS,’ he said. For results through SMS, one has to send SMS to 54242 and type <IPE1> space <Hall Ticket number>.

New initiatives

The Minister said, for the first time, many initiatives such as CC TV coverage at all centres, biometric attendance for the examiners, centre locator App, and jumbling system for the examiners had been introduced.

“Because of such initiatives, there have been no untoward incidents. Instances of malpractice have dropped considerably. The grading system will also minimise the unhealthy competitions among the colleges and reduce the stress levels among students,” he said.

The last date for re-verification and recounting, and supplementary examination is April 21.

The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examination will be held from May 14.
