Olentangy Berlin High School has filled all of its head-coaching vacancies except for spring sports.

The Bears recently named coaches for boys and girls bowling, girls golf and girls tennis.

The girls tennis program will be led by Josh Matusky, who is in his second season as Olentangy Liberty’s boys coach.

“Coaching has always been a passion of mine and when I had a chance to go to a new building and help build a program from the ground up, I had to jump at it,” Matusky said. “I have been coaching the j.v. girls at (Worthington) Kilbourne for the last three years and when I had a chance to get a job in the (Olentangy) district, I had to go after it.”

The girls golf program will be led by Bethany Dlesk. It will be her first head-coaching position.

Duane Joseph will coach boys and girls bowling. He was an assistant at Liberty last season and was an assistant at Westerville North in the two years prior.

“We have a great crop of coaches, and we have more to come,” athletics director John Betz said. “We have coaches in mind but some of them are head coaches and we want to wait until their seasons have completed before we name them. If our new coaches are assistants, they likely will be named before that.”

Other coaches hired by Berlin, which opens this fall, are Donovon Barrett (boys basketball), Anthony Beggrow (boys cross country), Megan Beidelman (girls basketball), Josh Diehl (boys soccer), Glen First (boys and girls swimming and diving), Andrew Fraley (boys golf), Jen Hedrick (gymnastics), Maddie Goelz (field hockey), Josh Heffernan (wrestling), Mark Nori (football), Tim Pennington (hockey), Dana Stearns (girls volleyball), Catherine Ubry (girls cross country) and Tara Zimmer (girls soccer).
