HSIIDC to develop IMT Sohna under PPP policy

It will span around to north of KMP Expressway near Nuh

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has decided to venture into a joint development of integrated Industrial Model Township (IMT), Sohna, under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) policy of the State government.

An HSIIDC spokesperson stated this here on Thursday, adding that a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 30. The corporation has proposed to develop the IMT across 1,292 acres of land through PPP mode, he added.

The proposed IMT will span around to the north of Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Nuh district. The site has immense locational advantage, as it is located at the intersection of NH-248A and KMP Expressway, about 36 km south of Sohna Chowk, Gurugram.

The State government’s recent announcement to set up a five-km-long elevated corridor from Subash Chowk to Sohna Road after Badshapur village will further reduce travel time to the Millennium City.

The site forms a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) and is located approximately 50 km from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The proposed IMT is envisaged for development of this industrially backward region of Mewat through a joint development model, wherein expertise, efficiency and financial resources of private player will help in setting up of world-class IMT, thus unveiling the untapped industrial potential of the region. In view of this, potential developers and operators, who specialise in the development and management of large-scale integrated industrial townships, are being invited to join.

The HSIIDC has already invited Expression of Interest for development of IMT. HSIIDC, the Haryana government’s nodal agency for development of industrial infrastructure in the State, has already developed six IMTs, including at Manesar, Bawal, Rohtak and Nuh.

Private participation will be sought through international competitive bidding by way of e-auction. Buoyed up by the success of e-auction of its commercial site at Gurugram, the HSIIDC expects this site to attract leading developers.

12-year period

Concession period for this joint development project will span 12 years, wherein the HSIIDC will be responsible for providing consolidated land for the project and the developer/project company will be responsible for designing and planning the project with industrial, commercial and residential components.

The developer is required to earmark at least 35 % of the total area for industrial use and maximum of 30 % residential/commercial area with maximum of 5 % for commercial sites.
