Country Thunder to host benefit concert for Humboldt Broncos

Cami Kepke/ Global NewsThe group behind a Craven music festival is throwing its hat is pledging to help the Humboldt Broncos the best way it knows how.
Country Thunder will be hosting a benefit concert on April 27 at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.
Country Thunder VP of Operations, Ted Gross says plans for a concert came together shortly after the news of the tragedy spread over the weekend.
“We know music has the power to bring people together and heal,” Gross told reporters in Regina April 12. “We talked to some of these major artists last week and they were coming up to us- because they knew we were Canadian- asking about it.”
Gross added some acts are already on board, but names and ticket prices won’t be confirmed just yet.
The group plans to establish the Country Thunder Foundation, with all proceeds directed to Humboldt players, staff, families and billets.
