The Andover and Andover Central softball teams faced off Tuesday night at Andover Central High School. Central won a tightly contested game one 3-2, before dropping game two 7-0.

Game one was a low-scoring affair as neither team was able to get on the board in the first four innings. Finally, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Central’s Amanda Dodds drove in all three of the Jaguars runs to take a 3-0 lead heading into the sixth. The Trojans were able to make it interesting in the top of the final inning as Andover drove in two runs to make it a one-score game, but was unable to tie it up as Central escaped with a win.

Audrey Orlowski earned the win, striking out 14 Trojans in seven innings.

Game two was dominated by Andover as The Trojans used a huge four-run second inning to take a 5-0 lead early in the game. Andover added a run in the fourth and fifth inning to distance themselves and finish the night with a split. Andover out-hit Central 8-1 in game two. Sarah Conley earned the win for the Trojans.
