Government school in Karur district gets ISO quality certificate

The Poyyamani Panchayat Union Middle School near Kulithalai has been awarded ISO 9001-2015 quality standard certificate for ensuring cleanliness on its premises.

A representative of the International Organisation for Standardisation handed over the certificate to Muthulakshmi, Headmistress of the school on Thursday.

The school, which was started in 1927, has 170 students and eight teachers. It had applied for quality certification last month.

The Panchayat Union Middle School, which is catering to the economic backward class students of Poyyamani and its neighbouring villages, has couple of air conditioned smart classrooms. It has computer laboratory too. Besides maintaining hygiene, the school has good sanitary facilities.

Apart from offering regular subjects, the school provides opportunities to the students to learn yoga and karate. It is also maintaining a rooftop garden.
