A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot at his Deltona home, deputies said.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office responded shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday at 1758 Santee Ave. after receiving a call about a shooting, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies identified the shooting victim as the homeowner, but didn't release his name. Volusia County property records show the primary owner as Mangar Rampersaud.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. He underwent surgery for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, sheriff's spokeswoman Laura Williams said.
Detectives are investigating, but they think the incident is drug-related and not a random act of violence, Williams said.
