High Court ordered the case based on a petition filed by advocate T Sriranga Rao, who was the counsel for Marupaka Dattu, a MTech student from a city -based college arrested in an NDPS case.

Dattu had filed three bail petitions before the Magistrate Radhakrishna Murthy which were disallowed.
