Camp shifted in retaliation, says HSSTA

The Higher Secondary School Teachers Association (HSSTA) has alleged that the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education shifted a tabulation camp in retaliation against boycott of valuation by teachers on Wednesday.

The federation, in a statement, alleged that the directorate took this step after teachers refused to be cowed by threats against boycott of valuation camps.

The tabulation camp at a Thrissur girls school was shifted after all teachers in the tabulation camp took part in Wednesday’s protest against merger of higher secondary section with high school.

Threat alleged

Attempts had been made to intimidate teachers by issuing a circular, warning teachers, and threatening teachers over phone. Nearly 85% of the higher secondary teachers boycotted the valuation, the association said.
