After six years, Dana Race is out as morning co-host at 100.9 The Cat, Albany Broadcasting's country station. Race's former on-air partner, Kevin Richards, did the show solo this morning.

"... As of today, I am no longer with The Cat. I have met some incredible people who I have had the opportunity to work with. I have crossed off a list of country artist who I have met and interviewed. The amount of love and support from listeners was always amazing. I truly appreciate everyone who would come up to me and say they could relate, or laughed or I just made them smile and the best, made their commute a little better. ..." wrote Race on Facebook.

She went on to say the news came as a surprise.

Race's former longtime a.m. co-host, Jake Allen, switched from The Cat to WFLY FLY 92.3 about a year ago to co-host with Ashley Marie when Brian Cody, Chrissy Cavotta and Jess Sims left for WGNA. Richards joined Race shortly after Allen made the move.

Race's bio is still up the The Cat's site (although it appears to be outdated as it mentions Jake as her co-host).
