Klopp confident Salah will stay

Mohamed Salah has attracted the attention of Europe’s biggest teams after his stunning debut season at Anfield, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes the Egyptian will remain at the club.

Salah has scored 39 goals this season for the Reds and has been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid. However, Klopp is confident that the 25-year-old’s future will be on Merseyside.

Klopp told German newspaper Bild: “I know that Mo feels very comfortable here, and he knows that our style of play suits him very well, so I am not worried about a transfer.”

If Salah finds the net against Bournemouth tomorrow he will be become the third Liverpool player to score 40 or more goals in one season. (Sky Sports)

Gareth Bale: Real Madrid to Inter Milan

Manchester United have “close to zero interest” in signing Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale. The Welshman could be set to leave Spain and it’s reported that Italian giants Inter Milan are now “ready to make a move” for the 28-year-old former Tottenham star. (Independent)

Suso: AC Milan to Liverpool

According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are “plotting” a move to bring back Spanish midfielder Suso - three years after losing him on a free transfer. In 2015 Suso joined AC Milan on a four-year deal and Liverpool could have to pay up to £35m for his return. (The Sun)

Islam Slimani: Leicester City to Newcastle United

Striker Islam Slimani, who is on loan at Newcastle from Leicester, has six games to impress boss Rafa Benitez and earn a permanent deal. Benitez said: “Islam still has six games left. We’ve spoken about Kenedy and Martin Dubravka as good additions in January so hopefully Islam can also give us something different. Kane hurt by social media ‘backlash’

The social media reaction to Harry Kane being awarded the goal against Stoke City has disappointed the striker says Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. Christian Eriksen was originally awarded Spurs’s second goal in the 2-1 win at Stoke, but Kane insisted that he got the final touch and appealed to the Premier League.

The league’s goals panel awarded the strike to Kane and social media users, including players such as Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy, questioned the decision.

Pochettino said: “Of course he [Kane] never thought that this situation was going to go on to such big things when he was so, so, so, so certain that he touched the ball. [He is] disappointed because he never wanted to create this. For you, sometimes, it is a small or simple thing and they become bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and you cannot stop it.” (Sky Sports)

Chelsea target Napoli boss Sarri

Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri could replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea this summer after the Blues were reported to have “sounded out” the 59-year-old. Sarri is said to have a £7m release clause in his Napoli contract, which is valid until 31 May. (Daily Mirror)
