Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger gives transfer hint over Russian playmaker
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out a move for CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.
Despite losing to Arsenal in the Europa League, Golovin was one of CSKA’s more impressive performers.
The 21-year-old, who viewed as one of Russia’s great talents, scored in the first leg and was instrumental in CSKA’s efforts to fight back in the second leg.
Following the match, Wenger was asked by a Russian journalist if he was interested in signing Golovin and gave a curious response.
Wenger said: “I would turn it round. Golovin is a very interesting player and had an outstanding game tonight.

We are not in transfer mode, I would say I could not see one bad player on CSKA Moscow tonight

Arsenal will find out their semi-final opponents today and Wenger was reluctant to reveal his preferred draw.
He said: “Everybody speaks about Atletico Madrid, they look strongest on paper from now on, but you must recognise as well the result that Salzburg has achieved.

“I am from France, Marseille are in there as well which is always a difficult place to go.
“Maybe it's better I don’t wish for anybody and just wait for the draw tomorrow.”
When asked if he wanted to avoid Atletico, Wenger added: “Ideally, they are the strongest, but let’s just play well against the team we get.”
