Bank official dismissed for remark on Kathua victim

A private bank official lost his job after his social media post on the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl at Kathua in Jammu invited massive online protests and a clamour for his dismissal from service.

Vishnu Nandakumar, who hails from Netoor near here, was working as assistant manager of Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Palarivattom branch. The bank’s post on its official FB page: “We have terminated Vishnu Nandakumar from the services of the bank on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, for poor performance. It is extremely disheartening to see such comments being made in the aftermath of such a tragedy by anyone, including an ex-employee. We strongly condemn this statement.”
