2018 Commonwealth Games day nine: the Games roll on with 65 medals to be won

Diving: The Men's Synchronised 10m Platform was decided earlier today, with England taking gold and silver, followed by an Australian pairing for the bronze.

Thomas Daley and Daniel Goodfellow's fifth dive, a back 3-and-a-half somersault, was the difference - adjudged a 90.72, getting them on their way to a 405.81 total for gold.

Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams (399.99) followed for silver with Australia's Domonic Bedggood and Declan Stacey (397.92) just behind, but clear of the next best.

A taste of what went down this morning at Cararra Stadium. More to come!

Rhythmic Gymnastics: Four medals were on offer for athletes arriving at the gymnastics centre - across hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon disciplines.

Cypriot Diamanto Evripidou was the hoop gold medallist, attracting no penalties on her way to a 14.850 total. She was followed by Wales' Laura Halford (14.000) and Kwan Dict Weng of Malaysia (13.550).

Next in line, but falling agonisingly short of a medal, was Australian Enid Sung who's apparatus score brought her down and left her in fourth.

Evripidou backed up her hoop sucess with the ball, a clear winner again (13.800), this time edging Malaysian Sie Yan Koi (13.400).

Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva was the only home favourite able to climb the podium through proceedings with a bronze medal at 13.250.

And Sophie Crane topped the Clubs (13.950) to add another Canadian gold to the tally, while Kwan Dict Weng of hoop success took the ribbon event out.

Last night presented plenty of drama with English sprinter Zharnel Hughes having a potential gold medal stripped, after making contact with medal rival rival Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards.

Hello and welcome

The Games are still firing up the Gold Coast as we reach the last few days of the competition which has engaged the nation and beyond.

It's been an especially prosperous medal chase for Australia so far, but there are still more to come, no doubt.

Nine golds will be decided out at Carrara Stadium tonight in the athletics realm, with boxing, diving and gymnastics among the other disciplines to be hanging out medallions on day nine.
