Zinc futures rise 0.99 pc as demand picks up

prices edged up by 0.99 per cent to Rs 204.65 per kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from the domestic spot market on upsurge in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in May rose by Rs 2, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 204.65 per kg in a business turnover of 86 lots.

On similar lines, the for delivery in April was trading higher by Rs 1.95, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 204.05 per kg in 3,574 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions created by traders due to pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market, drove the upside in prices in futures trade.
