Base metals recover on global cues, spot demand

Traders said besides firm trend overseas, uptick in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market,led to rise in prices.

Globally, copper for delivery in three-month rose 0.2 per cent to USD 6,837.00 per metric tonne on the London Exchange.

In the national capital, Copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rebounded by Rs 2 and Rs 5 to Rs 420 and Rs 828-833 per kg respectively.

Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported too enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 126-132, Rs 125 and Rs 132 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 126-132, nickel plate (4x4) Rs 828-833, gun scrap Rs 227, bell scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 420, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 125, lead imported Rs 132, aluminium ingots Rs 161, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 157, aluminium wire scrap Rs 157 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 155.
