Pauri admin ready for Gram Swaraj Abhiyan

Acting on the Centre’s instruction, the Pauri district administration is now gearing up for the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan which would be held in all  the gram panchayats of the district from April  14 to May 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution, which falls on April 14.  The district magistrate  of Pauri, Sushil Kumar has entrusted the task of organising the multi-phased event with the district heads of several departments like  agriculture, education and health while chairing a meeting on Thursday.

He further mentioned that  Pauri Zila Panchayat would be felicitated by the Prime Minister for excellent work it has done  at the district level. “The programmes to be organised on the occasion would be directly monitored by the Centre,” DM said, adding that the Centre’s observers might make unannounced inspection of the gram sabhas to see whether the programmes marked for the occasion are being help in the appropriate manner or not. 

DM said that the social welfare department would conduct a commemorative  programme  across the district on  April 14 to mark the  birth anniversary of Babasaheb and on April 18,  a programme would be  held  at Neelkanth  under Yamkeshwar block under the Swach Bharat Mission which would be presided over by the  DM.

 On April 20, LPG gas connection would be distributed  among some people under Ujjwala Yojana while on  April 24, a programme would be held in Paubo block by the Panchayat Raj department and seminars would be organised from gram panchayat to the district level on the themes of women empowerment, women health, vaccination and social development.

 On April 28, a programme would be held in Nainidanda block during which some people would be benefited under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Sobhagya Yojana and on  April 30, Ayushmann Bharat Diwas would be observed. 

DM further said that on May 2, the agriculture department would organise  Kisan Kalyan Diwas and on May 5,  a programme would be organised under National Rural Livelihood Mission.
