Akun Sabharwal to head Telangana civil supplies department

HYDERABAD: For the second consecutive time, the Civil Supplies Department will be headed by an IPS officer. The Telangana government appointed an IPS officer CV Anand as commissioner of the department in August 2016.

Anand recently got a central deputation as the Inspector General, Central industrial Security Force (CISF) recently. On Thursday, the state government relieved Anand from the post of Commissioner and appointed another IPS officer, Akun Sabharwal, who is presently the director of Enforcement commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, as the new commissioner of CSD (full additional charge). However, as Sabharwal is on long leave, senior IAS officer Sunil Sharma is posted as the FAC commissioner, Civil Supplies Department till Sabharwal joins.
